The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is the most important public institution dedicated to higher education and research in the fields of engineering, architecture and science in Catalonia (Spain). The Biomedical Engineering Research Centre (CREB) of the UPC covers the demand for R&D&I in the fields of Biomedical Engineering (BME) collaborating with the most important hospitals and companies on MedTech in the Region. The CREB also coordinates the bachelor, master and doctorate on BME at the UPC. Two research groups of the CREB participate in the WOMEN UP Project: Electronic and Biomedical Instrumentation group (IEB) and BIOsignal Analysis for Rehabilitation and Therapy group (BIOART).
Main tasks in the WOMEN-UP project
The UPC is the project and scientific coordinator, and is also responsible for some technical work. Particularly, the web platform though which self-management of urinary incontinence will be achieved, including data collection, patient guidance, a clinical decision support system, and friendly and easy-to-use patient-therapist interaction. The UPC is also involved in the development of the electronic portable device led by MegaElectronics Ltd, and is in charge of the dissemination tasks of the project.
