Hospital Clinic

Hospital Clinic (HCP) is a university hospital founded in 1906 that belongs to the Catalan Public Hospital Network. It includes almost all medical and surgical specialties, and is active in the areas of ​​Patient Care, Research and Education, either directly or through related companies. Fundació Clínic per a la Recerca Biomèdica (FCRB) was created to manage the research activities of HCP, one of the best hospitals in Spain. As such, HCP can be considered a third party of FCRB.

The hospital serves as a community hospital, and is the main public provider within its district in Barcelona, with a population of 540,000 inhabitants. It also serves as a high-complexity tertiary hospital taking care of a population of 7.200.000 habitants, developing lines of actions for patients, not only in Catalonia but also in Spain and worldwide. The Clinical Institute of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Neonatology (ICGON) is the result of the merging of the Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology departments of the Hospital Clínic and the City of Barcelona Maternity Hospital. ICGON’s Urogynaecology Unit has been the first unit in Spain and it’s a referral centre for complicated patients with pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Main tasks in the WOMEN-UP project

FCRB-HCP will be the clinical coordinator and will be in charge of System integration, clinical evaluation and recommendations through the pilot study for the System requirements and the Spain clinical assessment, System integration, clinical evaluation and recommendations.
